The department provides the following services: surgical pathology, cytopathology (including fine needle aspiration cytology) and autopsy services to the clinical departments and wards in the hospital, as well as state and private hospitals and clinics in our environment. Upcoming Events

The current challenges facing the department are old and faulty equipment, inadequate personnel especially resident doctors, and non-accreditation of our residency programs yet. 1) Poor infrastructure 2) Lack of Adequate Equipment 3) Poor supply of consumables 4) Absence of ancillary services like frozen section and immunohistochemistry


Additional Information

The old and faulty equipment prolong our turn around time, thus discouraging patronage by potential clients; the lack of accreditation of the residency training program discourages potential residents from coming into the system; and recurrent challenges with consumables negatively affect the morale of staff
