� To serve as In-House Solicitors and legal Advisers to the Management Board of the Hospital. � To interpret the provisions of the laws setting up the Hospital and its effects on the day to day running of the running of the Hospital. � To advise the Management of the Hospital on all relevant laws, decrees, and edicts that affects the operation of the Hospital � To assist in setting up guidelines and procedures for registration of contractors that has applied to be registered with the hospital (a continuous exercise) � To liaise with relevant government and agencies on matters that affect the hospital particularly in areas of taxes, etc � Liaising with ministerial and extra-ministerial departments/agencies (where such need arises) on all legislation affecting the activities of the Hospital (l Ministry of Justice, Internal Affairs, Employment, Labour and Production, Public Complaint Commission). � To aid in the training and sensitization of medical staff on medico-legal issues as it relates to liability to patients and third parties in the discharge of their duties. � To intervene on behalf of the Management and members of the staff on legal matters involving third parties with a view to resolving same. � To bring to the notice of Management and members of staff any legislation that relates to their educational and/or professionals qualifications, functions and duties. � Conduct searches at the Lands Registry on matters that the hospital is interested in and also at the corporate affairs Commission on any company registered with the Hospital for the purposes of medical supplies or otherwise. � To attend pre-contract meetings (when necessary) with contractors/prospective contractors with a view to identify the key clauses to be included in contract agreements. � Membership of the following committees: transparency and anti- corruption, Monitoring Unit, Disciplinary committee, Arbitration/Mediation Committee, procurement planning Committee, Management Tenders Committee etc. � Draft and vet all legal documents and agreements in which the Hospital is a party, especially contractual agreements entered into by the Hospital and monitor such agreements and deal with issues arising there from. � Advise the Chief Medical Director on matters relating to staff conditions of service vis-�-vis the existing labour laws in the country. � To attend court, judicial committee/ commission of inquiry or any such body on matters affecting the Hospital. � Lecture staff both clinical and non-clinical on the legal aspects of medical practice and workings in a Hospital. � Any matter assigned by the Hospital.
Ensuring the Hospital conforms with the Nigerian Constitution and other Legislations.
