The Chief Medical Director of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Osogbo, Dr Babatunde Afolabi received an Accreditation Team from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN),marking a historic first in the institution's existence and signalling a bold leap in its drive for healthcare excellence.
The Chief Medical Director, Dr. Babatunde Afolabi, received the visiting team with warm commendation, describing the occasion as long overdue and a moment of deep gratitude.
Reflecting on the hospital's pharmaceutical journey, Dr. Afolabi highlighted the strides made under his leadership, including the establishment of the Accident and Emergency Pharmacy, Theatre Pharmacy, OHIS and NHIS Pharmacy units a portfolio of expansions he said positions UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital to lead among its peers.
The CMD framed the accreditation exercise not as an inspection to be feared, but as a valuable tool for Institutional growth.
He stated that every observation and recommendation from the team would be embraced as an opportunity to strengthen the hospital's systems and service delivery. He further reaffirmed the institution's unwavering commitment to its pharmaceutical services and gave assurance that the PCN team would receive every necessary support and cooperation throughout the exercise.
Leading the Accreditation Team, Prof. Titilayo Fakeye thanked the hospital management for the warm reception and She set the tone for the exercise, clarifying that the PCN team had not come to witch-hunt or find fault, but to work collaboratively with the hospital toward a pharmacy department that would be the pride and envy of peer institutions across the country.
