2026 WORLD HYPERTENSION DAY: CONTROLLING HYPERTENSION TOGETHER.

World Hypertension Day is a day designated and initiated by The World Hypertension League,  the day was initiated to increase the awareness of hypertension.

It is observed annually on May 17 to raise awareness about hypertension and promote its prevention, detection and control. This year's theme  is "Controlling Hypertension Together" which is emphasizing the need for patients to check their blood pressure regularly and defeat the silent killer.

The theme also highlights the importance of collective action by individuals, families, healthcare professionals, communities, and governments in preventing and controlling high blood pressure. 

HYPERTENSION is of global concern. This is why our  focus this week on Medical Half Hour is on 2026 WORLD HYPERTENSION DAY: CONTROLLING HYPERTENSION TOGETHER.
