PLANS UNDERWAY TO REBUILD HEALTH CENTRE AT ATAOJA'S PALACE, OSOGBO - DR.BABATUNDE AFOLABI.

As a  way to boost the services at the Community Medicine of the hospital, the Health Centre under the supervision of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, located within the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji, Larooye II, the Ataoja of Osogbo is set for a complete rebuilding inorder to meet the modern healthcare standards.

This is in line with the directive of the Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke as  a joint inspection tour was carried out today at the facility.

The inspection team led by the Chief Medical Director of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Dr. Babatunde Afolabi alongside the Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary healthcare services Dr. Micheal Oyerinde. 

Revealed that the project will be fully sponsored by the State Government while the clinical services will be supervised by the Teaching hospital. 

During the visit, the team inspected the existing structure and also assessed a possible site and entrance for the proposed Health Centre within the palace premises to ensure better accessibility and service delivery for the people.

The Olori to Kabiyesi, Olori Kafayat Adeola Jimoh  who represented His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Laaroye II warmly received the delegation and assured the team that the message will be delivered to the paramount King 

Speaking during the inspection, the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Babatunde Afolabi assured the palace that an architect will be on site tomorrow to commence preliminary work on the new structure. 

He further stated that the project would be actualised through a joint effort of the Osun State Ministry of Health and UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital in fulfilment of Governor Adeleke’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare across the state.

The Chief Medical Director expressed appreciation to the Ataoja and the palace for their cooperation, noting that the rebuilt Health Centre will significantly improve primary healthcare delivery access for residents around the palace and it's  environs.

In attendance are Deputy Director of Nursing, Mr Oluyemisi Akinleye, DDNS Ajayi Benedicta and some staff of the Center.
