KEY ACTIVITIES AND UPDATES SINCE MY APPOINTMENT AS CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR
I am deeply honored to serve as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital. I extend my sincere gratitude to His Excellency, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, Executive Governor of Osun State, for entrusting me with this esteemed responsibility.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS SINCE ASSUMING OFFICE
Since officially assuming the CMD position on October 30, 2024, my focus has been on enhancing internal communication, building strategic partnerships, and driving operational efficiency across the institution. Key achievements include:
Enhanced Communication and Engagement
Established robust communication channels within the hospital and with external stakeholders, including unions, departments, and units. This initiative has fostered an environment of transparency and collaboration throughout the hospital.
Strategic Partnerships
Developed and strengthened relationships with various government agencies, community organizations, and international partners, including the Global Fund team, in support of our mission to deliver high-quality healthcare.
Community Engagement
Conducted courtesy visits to prominent community stakeholders, including the Ataoja of Osogbo, reinforcing our ties and securing local support for the hospital’s vision of growth and excellence.
Comprehensive Audit
Initiated a thorough audit of the hospital’s operations, infrastructure, and resources, providing a strategic guide for decision-making and aligning our future improvements with the hospital’s long-term goals.
Key Initiatives and Actions in Core Departments
1. Medical Laboratory Department
Established a Laboratory Revolving Committee to oversee resource utilization, ensuring that essential services are consistently available to meet patient needs.
2. Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN)
Requested a comprehensive report on current operational challenges, laying the groundwork for targeted solutions and the implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive efficiency and accountability.
3. Medical Social Work Department
Launched a Specialized Social Work Unit dedicated to managing cases referred by prominent figures, with a focus on proper financial tracking and support for these patients.
4. Pharmacy Department
Established two new pharmacy outlets in high-demand areas, improving medication accessibility for patients and staff and further enhancing the quality of care.
