GRAND ROUND: Fostering Excellence in Patient Care
I am delighted to report that the first edition of this year's Grand Round, held under my leadership as Chief Medical Director, was a resounding success. The event, themed "Positive Attitude to Patient's Care," featured a thought-provoking lecture delivered by Dr Akinlawon Adepeju, emphasising the significance of staff attitude in ensuring patient satisfaction.
The Grand Round is a vital gathering of hospital personnel, including doctors, nurses and other staff members. This platform enables us to share feedback, discuss updates on hospital operations and promote excellence in service delivery. Our primary objective is to foster a culture of teamwork, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care.
During the event, I emphasised the importance of maintaining a positive attitude amongst staff members, stressing that treating colleagues and patients with kindness, dignity and respect is essential. I also highlighted the need for accountability, learning from mistakes and expressing gratitude towards one another.
I took the opportunity to outline our achievements thus far and shared our plans for future development. Notably, I acknowledged and commended the generous donations from philanthropists supporting our Transformation Agenda. These contributions have significantly enhanced our hospital's infrastructure and services.
I extended my gratitude to these donors and invited other well-meaning individuals to complement our efforts by donating towards the hospital's development. The highlight of the event was the distribution of donated items to the benefiting units and departments, exemplifying our commitment to providing exceptional patient care and promoting a culture of excellence within our institution.
Once again, I express my appreciation to all stakeholders involved in making this event a success.
