Osun State University's management has pledged to strengthen its collaboration with the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, aiming to foster collective development and excellence in healthcare services, medical education, and research. This commitment was made by Vice-Chancellor Professor Ayo Adebooye during a meeting with the hospital's management team.
Professor Adebooye emphasized the importance of building a bridge between the University and the hospital, recognizing that they belong together. He also urged the hospital management to update their staff records, as has been done at the university.
The university plans to design a business plan with the hospital for the successful running of the multi-billion naira hospital donated by Dr. Mrs. Folorunso Alakija, the Pro-Chancellor of the University. This state-of-the-art hospital is expected to provide top-notch healthcare services to the people of Osun State and its environs.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors at UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Rt. Hon. Niyi Owolade, assured the Vice-Chancellor that the hospital is ready to work together with the University and make the State Government proud. He expressed his appreciation for the university's commitment to the partnership and pledged to ensure the hospital's full cooperation.
The Chief Medical Director, Dr. Babatunde Adeola Afolabi, expressed gratitude for the university's significant contributions to the hospital's growth and development. He noted that the partnership will strengthen their shared vision of delivering exceptional healthcare services, advancing medical education, and driving innovation through research.
The meeting was graced by all the Principal officers of the University, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Bursar, and Librarian, as well as the Management Committee of the hospital.
With this renewed commitment to collaboration, Osun State University and UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital are poised to make significant strides in healthcare delivery, medical education, and research, ultimately benefiting the people of Osun State and beyond.
