UNIOSUN CMD, Dr Babatunde Adeola Afolabi, Honoured with Transparency Africa Award

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Dr Babatunde Adeola Afolabi, has been conferred with the prestigious 'Transparency Africa Honour' award. The award ceremony, which took place at the UTH main complex, marks a significant recognition of Dr Afolabi's sustained dedication to transparency, accountability and excellence in healthcare delivery.

According to Ambassador Affikunto, Executive Secretary of Transparency Africa, the award celebrates Dr Afolabi's commitment to transparency and accountability, which has contributed to the effective running of the tertiary medical facility in Osun state. 'Having carried out our critical and acid test findings, we are indeed elated to announce to all Africans that Dr Babatunde Afolabi deserves Transparency Africa Honour,' he said.

Dr Afolabi, in his acceptance speech, expressed his appreciation to Transparency Africa for the recognition and thanked Governor Ademola Adeleke for his firm faith in his capacity to take the institution to a greater height. He also acknowledged the tireless dedication of his team, saying, 'I am proud to lead a group of individuals who share my passion for transparency, accountability and excellence in healthcare delivery."

The award ceremony was attended by notable personalities, including Dr Adebimpe Afolabi, the wife of the awardee; Dr Alla, Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee; and other officials of the institution.

This prestigious award is a testament to Dr Afolabi's exceptional leadership and commitment to transparency and accountability. As he continues to lead the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, his dedication to excellence in healthcare delivery is sure to inspire positive change in society.
