The Chief Medical Director, Dr. Babatunde Afolabi, has commended the staff of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital for their hard work and dedication to providing excellent patient care. He made this remark during the Hospital's Grand Round lecture, titled "Glaucoma - The Silent Thief of Sight."
Dr. Afolabi emphasized the hospital's commitment to delivering high-quality eye care services and stressed the importance of regular eye check-ups, especially for those at risk of glaucoma.
Prof. Caroline Adeoti, Head of the Ophthalmology Department, delivered a lecture on glaucoma, highlighting its causes, symptoms, and risks. She urged medical practitioners to be vigilant when treating patients with symptoms such as constant headaches, eye aches, and abdominal pain.
The event also featured:
- The presentation of a special magazine commemorating the Chief Medical Director's first 100 days in office
- The donation of items to the hospital by philanthropists
- Free optical screening for interested staff
The program was attended by the Management Team, Heads of Departments/Units, and a large number of members of staff.
