The 13th Synod of the Diocese of Osun, Anglican Church of Nigeria, held at All Souls Anglican Church, Osogbo, was a remarkable gathering of faith, service, and collaboration.
Representing Governor Ademola Adeleke, Dr. Babatunde Afolabi, Chief Medical Director of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, delivered a powerful speech highlighting the state government’s commitment to progress and partnership.
> “The Osun State Government remains steadfast in its vision to build a just, peaceful, and prosperous state under God,” Dr. Afolabi emphasized.
He praised the church’s agricultural proposal as a “laudable step” toward sustainable development, promising to deliver it to the governor for review. Reflecting on the spiritual significance of the occasion, Dr. Afolabi remarked, “This Synod reminds us of our higher calling—to serve God and humanity with unwavering dedication.”
Dr. Afolabi also lauded the impactful initiatives of the Diocese and reaffirmed the government’s collaboration with the church to uplift the lives of the people.
The Synod attracted notable figures from various sectors, including past Bishop Rt. Rev. J. A. Popoola, representatives from other Dioceses, and dignitaries such as Basorun Akanni, representing the Ataoja of Osogbo, and the Oludo of Ido-Osun.

The Synod was a celebration of shared values and a commitment to building a better Osun State through faith, service, and innovative initiatives.
